Love is in the Air

If you missed our January newsletter, here is the link and get inspired by Jim Rohn’s quote:

“If you let your learning lead to knowledge, you become a fool. If you let your learning lead to action, you become wealthy.”

February is an exciting month; we have both Valentine’s and Family Day. The perfect month to plant seeds of love and fun.

I recently read that for any relationship to succeed, the frequency of positive comments has to outweigh negative remarks about 5 to 1. In other words it takes 5 instances of agreement and support to undo the harm caused by a single criticism.

Keep in mind that everyone is fighting a battle or a struggle that you know nothing about, including loved ones. How does one navigate through this? Offer up more understanding and compassion and the good news is that there are several techniques that you can quickly learn and shine this February.

Here are 5 simple gestures that got maximum marks on the “How Romantic is this” scale:

  1. Cover their eyes and lead them to a lovely surprise
  2. Whisk them away somewhere exciting for the weekend
  3. Send a romantic text or email or tell them that they are the most wonderful person you have ever met.
  4. Send a large bouquet of flowers or gift box at their workplace
  5. Make a mix CD of their favorite music

Get inspired by Ella Fitzgerald’s, The Best of the Song Books with “Something’s Gotta Give” and “Love is here to Stay”!

For the best ever Family day fun, step it up with Eric Clapton & Friends with The Breeze, an appreciation of JJ Cale.  And take heed from Dale Carnegie’s rules for making your home happier:

  1. Don’t nag
  2. Don’t criticize
  3. Give honest appreciation
  4. Be courteous
  5. Pay little attentions

When it comes to gifting, regardless of romantic love – whatever gift you decide on, the purpose of that gift is to demonstrate that you care and for your “gift” to do that you must find out what caring means to the other person. And sometimes the best gift can be listening or even just being there for a loved one.

Best wishes,
